When I joined Akkio, the product was still finding its shape. It was positioned as an AI platform for complex data analytics, helping users import large datasets, clean data, build AI models, forecast outcomes and explore information that was difficult to read manually. The first challenge was building the product foundation from the ground up. I created the design tokens, components and design system structure, working closely with developers to bring consistency to a product that did not yet have a shared component base.
From there, I helped redesign the platform as it pivoted into an AI product for media agencies creating campaign and pitch workflows for major brands. By the time I left, Akkio had grown from Seed to Series B and I helped scale the design team from just me to 7 designers.
